Zagora

With access to Draa Valley, Sahara Desert and Saghro Mountains

Zagora is a town in the valley of the Draa River in Souss-Massa-Drâa, southeastern Morocco. Zagora is flanked by the mountain Zagora from which the town got its name. A well known sign at the town border states "Tombouctou 52 days", the supposed time for the trade caravans to get to Timbuktu in earlier time. (Partly from Wikipedia and Lex.orient)
Zagora Airport makes it easy to go from west to east. Royal Air Maroc has flights two days a week from Casablanca for those who want to go directly for some days experience. We meet you at the airport in Zagora and take you on a trip for sandboarding, cameltrekking and nomad life to our bivouac at the high dunes at Chegaga, or other areas in this region.
From Zagora there is easy access to:
Sahara Desert and the highest dunes in the region, Erg Chegaga. 40 km wide and 300 m high
Draa Valley
with more than 100 kilometres long belt of date palms, small berbervillages, mountains, and a also the Draa River, the longest in Morocco..
Saghro Mountains:This volcanic mountain region does not experience true winter snows like the High Atlas making it perfect for winter hiking. The Saghro is situated between the High Atlas mountains and the Sahara desert
